Our menstrual cycles typically last between 21 and 35 days long, and consist of 4 distinct phases: Menstrual, Follicular, Ovulation, and Luteal. Estrogen rises during the Follicular phase, leading to a boost in energy and mood. After ovulation, progesterone levels rise and fall, leading to mood changes and fatigue in the days leading up to our period. · Iron deficiency is the most common nutritional deficiency worldwide among women of reproductive age. Want to boost your iron intake? Pair with vitamin C to increase absorption. · Up to 60 percent of women are unable to effectively convert folic acid which can lead to neural tube defects in pregnancy. Folic acid is the synthetic form of folate—using methylated folate can help to bypass this genetic variation and aid folate absorption. ·
