We use Methylfolate, the active form of folic acid, which is clinically proven to increase serum folate levels.

Since folate is crucial for early pregnancy, it was important to our medical panel to include the most bioavailable form of folate possible—in the form of Methylfolate in our prenatal vitamin formulas. "Folic acid is less expensive, [which] leads to the terms folate and folic acid being interchangeable," says Dr. Amber Samuel, a maternal-fetal medicine doctor and Perelel Panel member. "We know that while everyone has to convert folic acid for it to be useful, [it's] an added step, decreasing bioavailability. And some women cannot due to MTHFR mutations."

While the timing of when you start your vitamins with us doesn't always exactly align with your trimester, rest assured all of our packs will keep your needs covered during any overlap weeks! Feel free to finish out your current pack before switching to your new one.

We chose to source omegas from fish because they are heavily research backed. To help reduce heavy metals in the final oil, we are also sourcing from smaller wild caught fish like anchovies and sardines.

An enteric coated HPMC (hydroxypropyl methylcellulose) capsule is a capsule meant to survive the gastric juices of the stomach in order to make it to the intestines, where it will dissolve. Our team has found that using this specialized capsule helps with nausea and stomach upset.

There is no need to stop taking your current Probiotic with the Greens Powder unless a personal preference for it to replace your probiotic as it does have different strains as well as a prebiotic.
