All raw materials for our vitamins are tested directly prior to production to ensure their purity and quality. COAs are performed on every batch of manufactured vitamins to ensure final product integrity and quality, which includes testing for heavy metals, microbes, allergens and contaminates. We then complete third-party testing for heavy metals, microbes and potency to confirm our products are safe under USP standards. Your website says your products are formulated by doctors. What does that mean, really?

Are probiotics safe during pregnancy?

Most commonly used probiotic strains have a good general safety record in healthy adults and a recent review (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8308823/) concluded probiotic products were safe for use during pregnancy and lactation with no serious maternal or infant safety concerns reported; minor effects (e.g., changes in stool or vaginal discharge) were noted in isolated studies. Evidence of specific benefits in pregnancy is mixed and continues to evolve. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your health-care provider before starting any supplement.

What are the best probiotics while pregnant?

There isn’t one “best” probiotic for every pregnancy. Look for products that clearly list strains ( Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium are probiotic genera that are well studied for a variety of health benefits ), clearly show the CFU amount, are third-party tested and are labeled for use during pregnancy—then confirm with your clinician. I love Perelel’s Daily Probiotic
I have tried a couple different brands of probiotics and so far Perelel’s is my favorite. I did a lot of research as we are PTC and I loved that Perelel’s Probiotic is safe for pregnancy and will keep my immune system and gut healthy. Extra brownie points for the ability to subscribe monthly and for them being affordable!
