Why did you formulate this with magnesium instead of melatonin? Which is better in a sleep aid?

The doctors behind our formula very intentionally chose magnesium over melatonin for a couple of reasons: For one, melatonin is not pregnancy- or breastfeeding-safe, and it was important to us to provide support for moms and moms-to-be who need it most. For another, since melatonin is the hormone our brain produces to induce sleepiness, taking more melatonin can directly impact our sleep-wake cycle—which can lead to grogginess and other undesirable side effects. Instead, studies suggest that magnesium acts as a precursor for our natural melatonin production, relaxing the body and setting the stage for better sleep. And our formula is safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding, too.

Is this safe to take while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes, the ingredient amounts in our Sleep Support* were specifically designed to be combined with any Perelel pack and to be taken safely throughout pregnancy and postpartum.

Are Perelel products 3rd Party Tested?

Yes, we complete third-party testing on all of our products to confirm purity and potency. Helps with Sleep
