Why did you formulate this with magnesium instead of melatonin? Which is better in a sleep aid?

The doctors behind our formula very intentionally chose magnesium over melatonin for a couple of reasons: For one, melatonin is not pregnancy- or breastfeeding-safe, and it was important to us to provide support for moms and moms-to-be who need it most. For another, since melatonin is the hormone our brain produces to induce sleepiness, taking more melatonin can directly impact our sleep-wake cycle—which can lead to grogginess and other undesirable side effects. Instead, studies suggest that magnesium acts as a precursor for our natural melatonin production, relaxing the body and setting the stage for better sleep. And our formula is safe for pregnancy and breastfeeding, too.

Is this safe to take while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Yes, the ingredient amounts in our Sleep Support* were specifically designed to be combined with any Perelel pack and to be taken safely throughout pregnancy and postpartum.

Are Perelel products 3rd Party Tested?

Yes, we complete third-party testing on all of our products to confirm purity and potency. All of our vitamins are made in FDA Registered and Inspected Facilities, which meet FDA 21 CFR 111 guidelines and are also cGMP Certified. All raw materials for our vitamins are tested directly prior to production to ensure their purity and quality. COAs are performed on every batch of manufactured vitamins to ensure final product integrity and quality, which includes testing for heavy metals, microbes, allergens and contaminates. We then complete third-party testing for heavy metals, microbes and potency to confirm our products are safe under USP standards. Amazing for leg cramps
I started taking this in the third trimester when I was getting really bad leg cramps and Charley horses in the middle of the night. Since making the switch to this, my leg cramping is completely gone. Highly recommend!

Pleasant nighttime ritual
I love the taste of this magnesium sleep support! The lemon balm adds a subtle, pleasant flavor that is especially good when this is drank warm (per the instructions). I've been using it to try to keep leg cramps at bay during pregnancy and it has become my favorite nighttime ritual!
