About Perelel: Perelel is a direct-to-consumer women's health startup focused on offering targeted OB/GYN-made and doula-approved vitamin routines for each stage of a woman’s reproductive cycle—from menstrual health to fertility, through each trimester of pregnancy, into postpartum and beyond. Perelel is a giving-company and donates a supply of its own prenatals for every new subscription while also donating a percentage of sales to support women’s health research and advocacy.
Role Overview: The Social Media Intern will play a key role in supporting the Senior Social Media Manager and content arm of Perelel in executing social media strategies. The intern will assist in creating content, assist in the management of Perelel’s social accounts, the company’s digital community and learn how to analyze performance metrics. This is a fabulous opportunity for someone looking to gain hands-on experience in social media marketing and grow within a fast-paced, creative environment for a women’s health startup.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in developing and implementing social media strategies to increase brand awareness and engagement.
- Create, edit, and schedule engaging content as guided by the Senior Social Media Manager for Perelel’s social media platforms: Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, etc.
- Help to monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and respond appropriately. This includes working through customer service requests.
- Help analyze social media performance using analytics tools and prepare reports on key metrics for weekly and monthly reporting.
- Stay in the know with social and wellness industry trends and competitor activities to inform content creation and strategy.
- Edit and film videos for Perelel’s social media channels.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to align social media content with overall marketing campaigns.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions with the content team to develop new and creative ideas for Perelel’s channels.
- Assist Social Media Marketing Manager and Marketing Coordinator with Perelel Advocate, digital and IRL marketing initiatives as needed.
- Support the organization of social media contests, giveaways, and other activities.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Media Studies, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of social media platforms and their best practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Creative, curious mindset with an eye for design and attention to detail.
- Basic knowledge of graphic design and video editing software is a plus (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Canva, Figma, CapCut).
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organizational and project management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Note: This is an in-house position based at our headquarters in Santa Monica, CA. We are not considering remote candidates for this role. This role is for school credit only.
