We’re HSA/FSA Eligible
Prenatal vitamins are essential, packed nutrients that help support both you—and baby—during your critical stages. You can use your flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) dollars towards your prenatal vitamins.
How It Works
While HSA dollars roll over each year, FSA dollars typically expire on 12/31 (check with your benefits provider). Use yours before they’re gone for good!

FSAs (flexible spending accounts) and HSAs (health spending accounts) are employee benefits that allow you to use pre-taxed income on certain medical expenses, including eligible healthcare products. That means you can reduce your personal healthcare costs on Perelel prenatal vitamins, and additional Perelel products with an LMN (letter of medical necessity).
An FSA is an employer-established benefit plan, and only available to employees when offered by their employer. Note, that self-employed individuals are not eligible to create an FSA under current IRS regulations. Note: FSA funds typically expire at the end of the calendar year, although some plans may allow you to roll over some funds or extend the plan year with a grace period. Make sure to spend the rest of your FSA dollars before December 31st to take full advantage!
An HSA is a medical savings account available to those enrolled in a high-deductible insurance policy. Unlike an FSA, self-employed taxpayers can create an account. Note, that an HSA is not available to those eligible for Medicare and Medicaid, or claimed as a dependent on another’s tax return. HSA accounts, unlike FSAs, do not expire and can be rolled over indefinitely.
Perelel’s prenatal vitamins are FSA/HSA eligible because they help prevent birth defects and support fetal development. The following Perelel supplements are always eligible.
Please note that Perelel prenatal vitamins do not require a Letter of Medical Necessity or pre-approval.

If you have an FSA plan, the funds do not roll over from year to year – use them or lose them! We advise you to file for reimbursement as soon as possible after making a purchase. Since time limits vary across plans, we recommend reviewing your plan for personal time constraints or grace periods.
If you have an HSA plan, funds can roll over from year to year, so there is no time limitation on when reimbursement claims must occur. It is important to note that you can not reimburse yourself for expenses that occurred prior to opening your HSA account.
An LMN, or Letter of Medical Necessity, is like a doctor’s note. It’s issued by a healthcare provider to outline the medical reasons why a particular product or service is medically necessary for an individual’s health, and qualifies your purchase to be HSA/FSA eligible. LMNs demonstrate that an expense is needed to diagnose, treat, or alleviate a medical symptom, rather than for general health or wellness purposes.
Yes, Perelel’s Non-Prenatal vitamins and supplements can be eligible for reimbursement with an LMN. Depending on your individual needs, you may be qualified for an LMN that you can submit, along with your receipt, to your HSA provider. As a reminder, all of Perelel’s prenatal packs do not need a LMN.
