All raw materials for our vitamins are tested directly prior to production to ensure their purity and quality. COAs are performed on every batch of manufactured vitamins to ensure final product integrity and quality, which includes testing for heavy metals, microbes, allergens and contaminates. We then complete third-party testing for heavy metals, microbes and potency to confirm our products are safe under USP standards. Are probiotics safe during pregnancy?

Most commonly used probiotic strains have a good general safety record in healthy adults and a recent review (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8308823/) concluded probiotic products were safe for use during pregnancy and lactation with no serious maternal or infant safety concerns reported; minor effects (e.g., changes in stool or vaginal discharge) were noted in isolated studies. Evidence of specific benefits in pregnancy is mixed and continues to evolve. If you’re pregnant or breastfeeding, talk to your health-care provider before starting any supplement.

What are the best probiotics while pregnant?

There isn’t one “best” probiotic for every pregnancy. Look for products that clearly list strains ( Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium are probiotic genera that are well studied for a variety of health benefits ), clearly show the CFU amount, are third-party tested and are labeled for use during pregnancy—then confirm with your clinician. Helpful in pregnancy and postpartum
I’ve taken probiotics for years and when I became pregnant, searched high and low for one that was verifiably safe (and beneficial) for both me and my baby. Perelel checked all the boxes at an affordable rate in comparison to other similar probiotics on the market. Not only did it help some symptoms I was experiencing in my first trimester, but continues to be useful in my postpartum and breastfeeding journey.
